The Community Housing Federation of Victoria (CHFV) is the peak body for not-for-profit organisations which develop, own and manage many forms of rental housing for low and moderate income Victorians.
CHFV represents the views of members to government and other relevant bodies, as well as providing advice, resources and training to the community housing sector.

New Funding Opportunities for Affordable Housing

The Australian and Victorian governments have unleashed an unprecedented level of growth in the affordable housing sector through a range of funding initiatives and sector reforms, inlcuding the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) and the Nation Building and Jobs Plan (economic stimulus package #2). This will equate to 5,000 new social housing dwellings to be built in Victoria, with the majority to be owned by community housing organisations.

CHFV members, local government, community and private investors interested in partnering with CHFV members to provide affordable housing are welcome to register their interest for our Partnership Clearinghouse with the CHFV Partnerships, Policy & Projects Officer. CHFV members have already been actively developing projects and preparing for growth.
